Council

The City of St. Regis Park has a Mayor/Council form of government. The Mayor is elected by popular vote and serves a term of four (4) years. There are seven (7) council members, who are elected by popular vote and serve a term of two (2) years.

Mr. Hodapp resides on Sir Johns Court with his wife (Sue) and 2 children (Ben and Katie). He has been a resident of St. Regis Park over 10 years. Mr. Hodapp was appointed a Councilman in September 2011 and is responsible for public safety in the neighborhood. He is graduate of Eastern Kentucky University in 1988 with a BS in Fire and Safety Engineering and works for RMR Recycling as the Environmental Health and Safety Manager.

Mr. Watts of Milburn Avenue has been a resident of St. Regis Park for 58 years.  He previously served as the City Attorney and has been on the council for 20 years.  Mr. Watts has been employed as an attorney for 34 years.  His professional affiliations include the  Kentucky Bar Association,  Louisville Bar Association,  U. S. Federal Court–Western District of Kentucky, U. S. Federal Court–Southern District of Indiana, YMCA, and the Kentucky League of Cities.  He also is a recipient for pro bono work from Legal Aid Society & Kentucky Bar Association.

City Clerk/Treasurer
Mr. Allen previously served two terms as mayor of St. Regis Park and two stints as City Clerk/Treasurer. He also serves on the Board of Trustees McMahan Fire Protection District as Secretary/Treasurer, the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Kentuckiana Board of Directors and is the Chairman of the Komen Louisville Race for the Cure.

Mr. Graves resides on Stormon Court and has been a resident since 1976. He is a Vietnam combat veteran, retired Army National Guard Lieutenant Colonel and retired business owner. He was appointed Assistant City Clerk/Assistant Treasurer in October 2011.

Beginning with the new terms of office in January 2007 the Mayor is paid $500.00 per month and Council members are paid $100.00 per month.

The positions of mayor and city council are obtained by filing for non-partisan elections held the first Tuesday of November. To run for Mayor or a council position a person must file with the Board of Elections prior to August 12 in order to be placed on the ballot in November. For more information contact the Board of Elections at 574-6100.

The City Council meets on the 1st Tuesday of every month at 7:30 p.m.. The meetings are held at the McMahan Fire District, 4318 Taylorsville Road. Notices of the meetings are published in the monthly newsletter. The meetings are open to the public and your comments are welcome during Citizen Participation at the beginning of every City Council meeting.
