I hope this finds all of you doing well. It is a really fun time of year as the schools are now out and the pools are now open. Please remember to be extra vigilant while driving, always looking for children, walkers, and bicyclists. Also, the city urges everyone to use the No Parking signs that we have available for summer picnics, birthday parties, etc. In order to use the signs, please contact city hall and we will drop some off at your home.
Speaking of summer, if any of you are planning any type of vacation, please let Councilwoman Cheryl Willet know and she can have Kentuckiana Law Enforcement keep an extra eye on your home while you are away. You can email Ms. Willet at email@example.com.
As of June 11th, our Tree Board has started planting 20 new trees for citizens this Spring. This is in addition to over 140 trees that they have already planted. Please keep in mind, that if you would like a new tree or need tree maintenance, the St. Regis Park Tree Board is here to assist. We have come a long way in regards to planting new trees, but we must never lose our focus
or momentum. Every time we plant a tree, it seems like another must come down due to storm damage or disease. I encourage all citizens to make sure we are doing everything we can to maintain our tree canopy. Not only does it make St. Regis Park remain park-like. It is good for the environment and home values too. Lastly, in regards to the Tree Board, Jane Ecker is renewing her position on the board and will continue to serve through June 30, 2021.
With the 4th of July being less than a month away, we are looking for volunteers to put out flags in each yard of the city. If you and your family are interested in participating, please contact Councilman Louie Schweickhardt at firstname.lastname@example.org. This is really a fun activity that many of our families have enjoyed assisting with in the past.
Last but not least, please remember to mark your calendars for the annual Citywide Yard Sale. We don’t want to look past summer or rush it away, but Fall will be upon us before you know it. The Citywide Yard Sale is always the first Saturday after Labor Day. It starts at 8 A.M. and goes until everyone is finished.
As always, if you have any suggestions or feedback on how we can make improvements to the city, please let us know. Our council meetings are always at 7:00 P.M. the first Tuesday of the month at the newly named Jeffersontown Fire House #2 - 4318 Taylorsville Road. We love feedback and invite you to come join us. St. Regis Park is a great place to live. Together, we can make it even
